iUrban Teen Announces Jonathan James Walker Scholarship
Portland, OR – Last year, iUrban Teen announced the formation of iSucceed, a scholarship program for the benefit of students in the Portland metropolitan area with a preference for those pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and the arts (STEM+A). This year’s award is honoring former student Jonathan James Walker whom we lost last August 2017 due to a boating accident.
Scholarships are valued at $2,000 for three recipients and are for the benefit of select young people who have been accepted to, or who are enrolled in good standing in, an accredited two or four-year degree or technical/career program. The scholarship is intended for individuals who have been iUrban Teen program participants and preference will be given to applicants who participated in free and reduced lunch program during high school. The program is launching in the Portland Metro area and is expected to expand to other iUrban Teen cities in the coming years. Applications are due by April 27, 2018 for the 2018-2019 academic year.
